Well-rounded, vintage tone with plenty of bite.
Fender 5e3 farting out mods#
We offer some options to help you tailor the build to fit your needs and budget, including a range of speaker options and an optional bundle of mods that offer better versatility, tone, and performance. This build is also the only build that comes with our “CK Mods” pack included which is explained in more detail below. It has a warm low end, the mids are mellow, and the highs have a lot of clarity and detail. The Celestion Blue speaker is favored by many players in the Tweed Deluxe. It comes loaded with a Celestion G12 Blue 15W alnico speaker. It is also built using Mercury Magnetics transformers, but it uses an oversized output transformer which delivers more output and a firmer low end, while delivering the same tone, grunt, and compression as the original output transformer. The “Ultimate” Tweed Deluxe is how we believe every modern Tweed Deluxe should be built. Level 3: The Ultimate Tweed Deluxe Build - $1,975
Fender 5e3 farting out upgrade#
We’ve paired the transformer upgrade in this package with a Weber 125A-12A Alnico speaker, which is the closest speaker to the original stock Tweed speaker that we have found.
Fender 5e3 farting out series#
Mercury Magnetics transformers are 100% handmade in the U.S.A and the series we use are built identically to the original transformers used in the Tweed amps of the ‘55-’60 era. The “Premium” Tweed Deluxe is built using Mercury Magnetics transformers. Level 2: Premium Tweed Deluxe Build $1,750 The standard Tweed is capable of delivering the classic Tweed look and sound at a great price point. It comes loaded with the Jensen C12Q 35W speaker which is a great balanced speaker with a tight low end and plenty of bite. The “Standard” Tweed Deluxe is built using Hammond transformers which are great quality while also being lower cost. Level 1: Standard Tweed Deluxe Build - $1,400 (Price reflects the standard options, subject to change based on the options you choose) All 3 build levels are made with the same circuit and components, but differ in the transformers and speaker that come loaded in it. We now offer a total of 3 different build packages, a selection of speakers, and optional mods. They’re expertly covered in Tweed cloth and finished off with a durable, aged-lacquer coating. They’re built using a solid, finger-jointed pine shell and Baltic birch ply baffle board and rear panels. Our cabinets are also hand-built using the same construction methods used in the ‘50s. This allows us to get the benefits of the reliability/low noise of modern film resistors where its needed, but still use old-style carbon resistors in the audio path for the mojo aesthetics and tone.

We use a blend of metal film, carbon film, and carbon composition resistors. Every Ckaudio Tweed Deluxe comes loaded with F&T, Sozo, and Silver Mica capacitors which are some of the best quality vintage-style capacitors currently in production. Our circuit is made following the original Fender schematic and component layout, while making a few modern safety enhancements and improvements.

All of our amps come loaded with JJ tubes and our power tubes are matched and pre-burned in so the amp is perfectly biased, stable, and ready to rock. We also use vintage-style cloth wiring for a true classic look. We use top-quality components that are hand-selected for minimal variance and consistency. The circuit is assembled in a point-to-point fashion using a turret board that we make by hand. The Tweed Deluxe is most known for its thick bottom end, sweet midrange voice, and its raw & aggressive overdrive when the volume is pushed. The Tweed Deluxe is our remake of the classic Fender 5E3 amplifier made around 1955 to 1960.
